CRYSTAL NILSSON
Crystal Gipe Nilsson (CLMA, MFA, RSME) is a choreographer, performing artist, and dance educator. She holds an MFA in Dance from Smith College and a BS in Dance Performance from Ball State University. Crystal was previously the director of Dance at Deerfield Academy, and Adjunct Professor at Springfield College and Smith College. Crystal’s choreography has received the Merit for Choreography Award at ACDFA, and has been produced at the SpringWIDEOpen Festival, the Rebound Dance Festival, the New England Dance Project, and in New York Ciry, San Francisco, and New England. Most recently, Crystal presented a new work as an I-ARE (Integrated Artist in Residence) at The Dance Complex in Cambridge, MA. She performs with NilSprung Dance Project, 83paperbirds, and Reject Dance Theatre.
STEPHEN URSPRUNG
Stephen Ursprung is an Assistant Professor of Dance Studies at Dean College and serves as the Operations Director at the American Dance Legacy Initiative (ADLI). He holds an MFA in dance from Smith College and an AB in economics and Italian studies from Brown University. Locally, his choreographic work has been presented at the Dance Complex, the Somerville Arts Council, and the Boston Center for the Arts. He has performed work by Paul Taylor, Pilobolus, Monica Bill Barnes, Robert Battle, Danny Buraczeski, David Parsons, Ruth Andrien, and Danny Grossman, many of whom he worked with as a Brown Student and through his work with ADLI. He has choreographed for Columbia Records, performed in Cape Town, South Africa, and choreographed for the Provincetown Tennessee Williams Theater Festival. A proud member of Actors’ Equity Association, Stephen was most recently seen in OKLAHOMA! at Trinity Repertory Theatre in Providence, RI in 2016. Stephen currently creates work with NilsSprung Dance Project and Reject Dance Theatre and works as a freelance choreographer and educator throughout New York and New England.
LARISSA URSPRUNG
Larissa Ursprung trained at the High School for Performing Arts in Houston, Texas where she graduated with Honors in Dance. As an undergraduate at Harvard she performed with and choreographed for Harvard’s Ballet Company, Early Music Society, and Contemporary Dance Ensemble. In 2007 she received the Suzanne Farrell Award and an Artist Development Fellowship from the Harvard Council on the Arts. Larissa has been featured in performances ranging from the Ivies@Cunningham at the Merce Cunningham Studio to the Festival du Mois Molière in Versailles, France. She currently performs with Reject Dance Theatre and Nilsson Dance Project.
